The Piece
Two metres of handmade solid pine, built in Europe using a settle bench tradition that predates most modern furniture by centuries. This is a genuine statement piece for a hallway, boot room, or kitchen — not a reproduction of the form, but a continuation of it. The lift-up seat conceals a deep storage compartment generous enough for throws, boots, dog leads, or table linens.
The spindle sides, scalloped back rail, and traditional heart cut-outs are not decorative additions — they are the defining architectural details of Dutch farmhouse craft, hand-worked in solid-format pine and finished with a distressed paint technique that allows the natural grain and timeworn character of the wood to show through. Intentionally rustic. Deliberately not pristine.

The Detail
Solid-format pine construction throughout — substantial in weight and build, with the heft and presence of a piece made to last rather than to be replaced. The hand-applied distressed finish enhances rather than masks the wood's natural grain, giving each bench its own character. Minor variations in grain, finish and distressing between pieces are the direct result of hand craftsmanship, not inconsistency.

Character Note
As a handmade piece, no two benches are identical. Grain variation, subtle tonal differences, and the natural character of solid pine are part of what makes each one genuinely individual — and part of what distinguishes it from anything mass-produced.

Collection
If you wish to collect item personally from our showroom, please schedule the collection with us.
Shipping
As every order is unique, the costs of delivery will vary depending on the size, weight, location and destination of your chosen items. When available, special delivery conditions such as fixed price or courier delivery will be displayed at check out. For our large items like cupboards or chests the delivery is around £69 UK wide (excluding Northern Ireland).
Tables Delivery & Assembly
Some of our tables are delivered by a specialist 2-man furniture courier. We offer two options:
- White Glove Delivery — £129: Delivered, positioned, and fully assembled in your room of choice. All packaging removed.
- Room of Choice Delivery — £95: Delivered to your room of choice, ready for self-assembly.
Both options include careful handling and are available across mainland UK. Contact us for a quote for remote postcodes or international delivery.
Delivery times vary by item size. Large furniture (such as dining tables and cupboards) typically ships within 7–14 working days. Smaller items up to 120cm in length usually ship within 2 working days. Once your order is ready and shipping has been arranged, we will contact you to confirm delivery details. For larger pieces we work with specialist furniture couriers, and delivery timelines can occasionally be longer depending on your location and courier availability — we’ll keep in touch throughout and update you as soon as a date is confirmed.
International shipping
We ship internationally to Europe, USA and UEA. Learn more about our international shipping process before placing an order online or submit a Shipping Quote Request.
Returns
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
We can offer an exchange or refund on items that are returned to us in the same condition, including packaging, and sold within 30 days of receipt.
We do not accept returns on antiques as noted on the product pages. Read our Return Policy on non-refundable items.
