The Story

There are tables you eat at. And then there are tables that stop people in their tracks. The Cotswold is the latter. Handcrafted in England by a local master craftsman, the only person in the UK who builds to this specification, the Cotswold is a singular architectural investment. Not factory-finished. Not flat-packed and shipped in a container. Not made to a trend. Made to outlast one.

The Craft

The Cotswold is built from slow-grown old-growth reclaimed pine salvaged from 19th-century UK and European structures — solid planks close to 5cm thick that modern fast-grown timber simply cannot replicate in weight, stability, or character. Because this is slow-grown old-growth timber, its tight grain structure and high density make it significantly more resistant to movement than the fast-grown modern pine used in mass-market furniture. It is also substantialy heavier.

Every top is finished by hand in either a hand-applied natural wax that enhances the wood's historic patina, or a traditional artisan limewash that lets every grain, knot and century of character breathe through. No two tops are the same. No two ever will be.

The base is hand-carved from reclaimed pine, substantially thicker than anything else in this category, with a distinctive gothic pedestal profile constructed using traditional hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery. The artisan finish is achieved through a layering technique exclusive to our workshop, with no shortcut and no factory equivalent. Every base comes out slightly differently.

In Your Home

Three metres seats eight comfortably and ten when it matters. It belongs in a proper dining room with high ceilings, in a farmhouse kitchen with bifold doors to the garden, or in a converted barn where nothing needs to match.

Made to Order. Made for Life.

The Cotswold is available as a pre-order. Lead time is typically 10–12 weeks.

This is not a table from a catalogue or the latest trend. It is not made overseas. It is made for people who understand that the right table is the foundation of a home — and that some things are worth waiting for.

Character Note

Because this table is made from genuinely reclaimed old-growth wood, every piece is unique. Original saw marks, nail holes, knots, grain variations, and subtle tonal differences are not flaws — they are the record of the wood's history, and a significant part of what you are buying. This is authentic historic patina that no factory process can replicate.
